Tell yourself: The time for that has passed. The wind is rising. The bell’s been rung. Get started, get moving.”
A little later he finished with this, “If you want momentum, you’ll have to create it yourself, right now, by getting up and getting started.”
Wow, was that a bell ringer! I’m reminded so many times that it’s me responsible for any success or failure in my life. I can’t blame my neighbor or my wife, Mary. I have to look in the mirror and say to the face staring back at me the quote I’m sure most of us have heard, “if it’s to be, it’s up to me.”
I read this recently on a billboard, “failure is the opportunity to start over and make it right.”
That’s what we all want isn’t it? To be successful at whatever we are doing or whatever our goals are. We want success. Why should we allow excuses to control us? According to Ryan Holiday, the obstacle is the way to overcome fear or anything else that stands in our way of achievement. Use the obstacle as a means of personal growth, removing all excuses.
